China Mobile and Canada's Research In Motion plan to develop BlackBerry smart phones enabled for TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE networks and will offer BlackBerry Internet services and new BlackBerry handsets targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as individual consumers cctime.com reported
China Mobile Chairman and CEO Wang Jianzhou said that it plans to release packages for SME users and individual users in future for a lower fee than the current versions aimed at high-end users and big corporate users. RIM also noted that BlackBerry's Internet service, to be released in China next year, will include social networking service, email service, instant messaging and handsets will come pre-installed with China Mobile's application store "Mobile Market" and mobile instant messaging tool "Fetion" service.
RIM and China Telecom are entering finals talks to cooperate on offering Blackberry handsets in China, and details of their cooperation are expected by the end of the year.
