China Netcom Shares To Quit Dealings On October 6

The last day for dealings of China Netcom shares is tentatively scheduled for October 6, according to a joint-announcement released by China Unicom and China Netcom on Thursday. Netcom is expected to withdraw its Hong Kong and New York listings on October 15, according to the timetable. China Netcom will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Unicom with the closing of the merger, also set for October 15.
