China Mobile To Spend RMB 5.6B On Earthquake Recovery

China Mobile estimates it will spend a total of RMB 5.6 billion to repair its mobile communications network in earthquake-stricken areas over the next three years. A Sichuan Mobile executive said all of China Mobile's affected service offices have resumed operation, while network repairs have been completed in 21 counties, 451 townships, 4,389 villages, and 492 temporary housing camps.

China Mobile announced on Friday that it plans to donate RMB 45 million to rebuild the Li Bing Middle School in Dujiang, Sichuan. A magnitude 8.0 earthquake hit Sichuan on May 12, 2008.
